About Terry Isaacson

Biography as of September 2011

Terry Isaacson is a 1964 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. He served twenty-seven years in the Air Force and retired as a Colonel in 1991. During his career, he logged more than 3,000 hours of flying time in jet aircraft and flew combat missions in the F-4E Phantom fighter aircraft during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his flying duties, Isaacson had assignments as an intercollegiate football coach at the Air Force Academy and as the commander of the Air Force’s only basic military training school in San Antonio, Texas. In the mid-eighties, Colonel Isaacson was the Wing Commander at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona, the largest pilot training base in the country. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Isaacson played a key role in creating a new campus for Arizona State University at the former base.

In October 2007, Isaacson completed more than fifteen years of work with the university and began a third career focused on traveling and writing. He has published two historical fiction novels: A Flight Through Life was published in 2005, and The Coronado Illusions was published in 2007. His third novel, Closure, is a contemporary mystery published in the spring of 2010.

Terry’s latest book, Tips For Thomas, is an instructional book on golf written specifically for his 10-year old grandson, but the tips and drills presented in this 52-page book are appropriate for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
